Malaysia is a small country (about the size of Alabama) in Southeast Asia. Its climate is tropical, and very hot and humid. In fact, the city I am going to be staying in (Seremban), is only 3 degrees above the equator. Kuala Lumpur is capital of Malaysia, and has a population of about 1.4 million. Seremban has a population of 400,000, and is about 40 miles SW of Kuala Lampur. The official language of Malaysia is Malay, which is similar to Indonesian, but many other languages are frequently spoken. The cuisine of Malay is very diverse, but some more popular foods include rice (usually with coconut milk), fish, fruits, and shish kebabs. Almost all food is eaten with the bare hands, and all exceptions are eaten with chop sticks. Recreational activities include soccer, kite flying, badminton, volleyball, top-spinning, martial arts, and local festivals. Because the environment is tropical, there is a wide variety of wildlife, including:
orangutans, elephants, tigers, rhinos, leopards, lemurs, and various large insects

The Malaysian culture is extremely unique because it is very diverse. The different ethnicitiese found in Malaysia include Chinese, Indian, and Malaysian. The different traditions of these ethnicities have extreme impact on all aspect of Malaysian culture, including religion, diet, and holidays. All traditions from the different ethnicities are still practiced today, creating a very unique environment. I am very exited to learn about several different types of cultures and religions.
